If you’re seeking a vibrant bar brimming with personality, look no further than Idle Hour, a gem nestled in North Hollywood. Located at 4824 Vineland Ave, this quirky establishment is more than just a bar; it’s an experience. With its charming barrel-shaped exterior, the ambiance invites you into a world where nostalgia and fun converge.

Idle Hour is not just about drinks; their small bites menu offers tantalizing options perfect for sharing or enjoying solo. Indulge in crispy Buffalo Cauliflower, drizzled with Idle Hour's signature buffalo wing sauce and paired with a side of cooling ranch dressing. If you’re feeling a mix of savory and sweet, the Homeboy Soft Pretzel boasts a giant fluffy Bavarian style, lightly salted, and served with your choice of queso or mustard—perfect for dipping. Another fan favorite are the Rocketeer Wings, succulent chicken wings slathered in zesty buffalo sauce, complemented by a side of ranch for that extra kick.

The essence of Idle Hour transcends just its menu; customers rave about the lively atmosphere. As Al Allen noted, the vibe is infectious, with live music adding to the experience, all housed within a space that drips with history. For those in search of a more interactive experience, Idle Hour frequently hosts trivia nights and drag brunches, creating a sense of community where fun and laughter are always in the air. Kimmy Veryzer highlights this as her favorite neighborhood spot for a reason, and the delightful general manager, Chard, ensures that every guest feels welcomed with a genuine smile.

Idle Hour also offers tantalizing takeout options, allowing you to enjoy their signature cocktails at home. Whether you splurge on a 32 Oz Paloma or a carefully crafted Basil Bulldog, these takeout drinks are both convenient and delicious, ensuring that even at home, you’re experiencing the magic of Idle Hour.

With an eclectic mix of patrons and a welcoming vibe, Idle Hour captures the essence of nightlife in North Hollywood. Whether you’re popping in for a quick drink, savoring the culinary creations, or lingering for engaging entertainment, this bar is sure to become your new favorite hangout. As Adrianna Miller puts it, "The vibes are immaculate!" Come for the drinks, stay for the atmosphere—you won’t be disappointed!

Came here after hitting 786 for some pizza. This was our first adventure into NoHo & Studio City area. The place looked like fun based on reviews and photos and it certainly was. There was live music playing on a stage that was some old retro looking dog…which you have to go see to understand what I’m talking about. The places is dripping with history and was a blast. Drink prices were super reasonable and the staff was very friendly. I think we’re coming back for Bottomless Gray Brunch which the bottomless stands for a mimosa special…so keep your mind out of the gutter.

This is my favorite neighborhood spot. It has everything from trivia nights to drag brunches, plus delicious food and drinks!! If you haven't checked out Idle hour you definitely should. Huge shout out to the general manager Chard! The nicest guy with the best vibes!

Adorable barrel shaped front building with sizable back patio. Fun lively crowd Saturdays and good happy hour options too. Lots of signature cocktails and decent amount of beers on tap. Sizable food menu also including sweet potato fries and desserts!

Quiet Sunday, came in for a drink. There is an awesome historic bulldog inside a beer barrel, but there is no actual ice cream. Pretty fun, stand in the center of the barrel and whisper. Awesome happy hour

The vibes are immaculate! Such a fun place to go for a night out. We were smitten with the quirky architecture, loved that the staff were casually wearing elf ears, and the food and drinks were wonderful. I look forward to the next time I can go.

Delicious food and drinks with a fun, lively atmosphere. It can get a little loud, so it’s not the best place for a quiet chat. The tall table stools are uncomfortable, but the benches offer a better seat.

That portobello mushroom ‘fries’ are sooooo good! Get it! 3-6pm they have happy hour menu that carries $7 bites and $7 cocktail. The $7 pizza is decent. Make a Mule is
